Sorry, Adam: here's his idea for post #1
My apologies to Adam. I accidentally deleted his post. He posted the two versions of this Tegan and Sara song for us to consider which we think is better. Im not saying it as nicely as he did, but maybe he'll come fix it. In the meantime, here are the two versions to consider. Let's get this thing rolling (and I promise not to delete any more posts--Im learning. But this is my first time on a blog, after all).

As much as I can enjoy a good techno beat with the best of them, I would tend to lean toward the underproduced sound of the acoustic version. While overproduced may not be the best word, the Tiesto version certainly makes you literally feel the song in your bones (with its thumping bass). However, I feel that the acoustic version comes closer to instilling the sentiments found in the song. And if a song ever fails to convey its message, of what good is it?
ReplyDeletei like both alot, but i think i agree with rob in that the words and ideas are easier to consume without the distraction of a fast tempo and a heavy beat. not that music with a strong beat can not adequately convey a message, but in my opinion, acoustic songs have a greater ability to move me than those that have more going on musically. for me, i think that this is because the words have my full attention rather than the music that accompanies it.
ReplyDeleteohhhhhhhhhh btw. adam didn't post that, i did. and then caitlin deleted it, and thought adam posted it.
ReplyDeleteannnnnnnnnd......
it doesn't matter.
that being said, despite the troubles with editing...all are able to post and change background settings and things. (earlier i thought you could post, and you couldn't, but now you really can) also feel free to invite any friends to be admins as well.
i'd love for this to be a sharing space. just post whatever's on your mind so you're friends can respond!
