The Proposal

We have all gone our separate ways. From Pennsylvania to South Korea, and all sorts of odd places in between. I feel like I have lost a great many good friends who have helped me throughout my college years to become the person that I am today. But do I really have to lose all of you? And why should we stop growing?

So here is my proposal. The idea is that we continue to develop our worldviews, and we continue to help each other. It is a risk. You may all shut me down. I pray that you don’t. We are all busy. We are getting married, building our careers, going to school, and traveling the world. There are many negative things that come with technology, but I am a firm believer that one shouldn’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Technology can help us help each other. This isn’t meant to be another obligation, but an opportunity.

How does that look? This can be a place where we share. Share what? A poem we read or a poem we wrote. Current events. A website. A picture we took ourselves or a picture we find interesting. Folk tales or everyday anecdotes that make us think. Just a quote or a whole essay. A Scripture. A comic. Pop culture. Recipes. These are just a few suggestions. We can all post what is inspiring us at any given moment. But then there is also this crazy gift we have been given. We can share it with friends and our friends can post thier reactions. They can try the recipe, and enjoy it. They can think about the philosophical quandary and draw a conclusion. They can make a suggestion or a critique. They can love it or hate it and tell you why. We’re still in this together.

Call me a romantic, but this could be something beautiful. Just let me know if you’re in.
