i finally finished my mariner's cap correctly! for those of you who don't know, the basic design has been almost 2 years in the making, but has always remained marred by silly mistakes--most notably the incredible difficulty in getting the length correct because of the tightly-fitting nature compounded with the extremely quick decreasing at the crown.
anyway, here it is:

it's like two hats in one! the second is with the brim unfolded, and it makes a nice winter beanie, and the first is the mariner's cap proper, sitting nicely and snugly atop the head and (mostly) leaving your ears alone.
